Privacy Policy
studii ("studii", "we", "us") makes an AI-powered study app for students in the United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using studii you agree to this policy.
studii is for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. See Children's Privacy below.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, a display name (optional), and your date of birth (used only to confirm you are 13+; we store it, we do not publish it). You can also use studii anonymously, without an account.
- Study content you create or upload: notes you type, links you add, and files you upload (PDFs, photos/images of notes or textbook pages, and audio recordings), plus the questions you ask and the study materials studii generates for you (chats, quizzes, study guides, tutor sessions, plans).
- Support communications you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & technical data: an app-generated device identifier (a random value used to limit free-trial abuse — not a hardware ID), a push notification token (if you enable reminders), app version, and basic diagnostic/crash data.
- We do not collect precise location, your contacts, your browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
Information we do not collect in this version
- studii's mental-health and religion/inclusion features are disabled in this release, so we do not collect any health, wellbeing, or religious information.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the app: answer your questions, generate quizzes/guides/tutoring grounded in your materials, and keep each class's content separate.
- To process your content with AI: your study content is sent to our AI providers to produce answers and study materials (see AI & service providers).
- Safety & integrity: to operate content-report/moderation tools, prevent abuse and fraud (including free-trial abuse), and keep the service secure.
- Notifications: to send study reminders you schedule (you control these).
- Communications: to respond to support requests and send essential service messages.
- We do not use your study content to train third-party AI models, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
3. AI & service providers (subprocessors)
We share the minimum necessary data with vendors who process it on our behalf to run studii. We do not sell data to them or anyone else. Current providers:

4. How long we keep your data
- Raw uploads (the original file/audio you upload) are deleted after a retention window — 30 days by default — once we've processed them into the text studii uses; you can set this window (including "delete on processed") in the app's privacy settings. The processed study text is kept so your materials keep working.
- Account data and generated content are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Aggregated, non-identifying safety/compliance records (e.g. counts of blocked under-13 signups) may be retained without personal identifiers.
5. Your rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, in studii you can:
- Access & export your data — Settings → Privacy → "Download my data".
- Delete your account and associated content — Settings → Privacy → "Delete account" (this permanently deletes your data; some anonymized safety records may remain).
- Delete individual materials at any time.
- Control notifications and the raw-upload retention window in settings.
U.S. state privacy rights. If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, [confirm full state list], you have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing"/targeted advertising — we do none of those. To exercise these rights use the in-app tools above or contact us at [[email protected]]; we will not discriminate against you for exercising them. You may appeal a decision by contacting [[email protected]].

studii is not directed to children under 13, and we block account creation by anyone who indicates they are under 13 (no account is created). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact [[email protected]] and we will delete it.

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls and audit logging, malware scanning of uploads, and least-privilege internal access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as required by law.
8. International users
studii is intended for users in the United States. As noted above, some processing (AI embeddings/OCR/transcription) may occur outside the U.S. By using studii you understand your information may be processed in those locations.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; we'll change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
